The journey of the past 7 weeks has come to an end and I have mixed feelings. Altough it was hard to keep up with this as well as work and as well as school I really enjoyed what I learned. The most beneficial experience was learning how to keep a blog. I have never done that before and didn’t think I had enough to say to keep one. I am excited to learn that I do have much to say on a lot of things that come to mind.
The least useful, I can’t think of but the most aggravating tool we learned about were the bookmarks for delicious. I know it’s not rocket science but it just doesn’t make much sense. There is way too much information out there I didn’t even know where to start.
I don’t have much say or pull in my library but personally I will use these tools that we have learned and continue to learn from them. There is so much the Internet can do nowadays as someone who works in a library it is imperative that we keep up with the new programs that come out and stay on top of them because someone at some point will have a question and knowing thee program is only half the battle.
Thank you to everyone in the class I have learned so much from all of you and I truly enjoyed our time together. opefully one day we’ll meet in person but until then….

Okay so class here’s a reminder never be absent! Last week I was on vacation and I am going insane. How cruel are RSS feeds. I don’t like them and see no reason to EVER, EVER use them again! I don’t get the concept and I don’t get how to add them to my page.
However this week we are on wiki’s and these are a little easier. Although I don’t feel like I need to personally add anything to anywhere myself I suppose someone who has tons to say would find these almost magical in a sense.
I am finding that as the weeks pass the content is getting more and more difficult. And being in school at the same time is not helping my situation at all so forgive me for not being as studious as others for I do have a couple of research papers on my plate. But who could pass this up? Well, I couldn’t that’s why I am in this predicament. Hopefully, things will get easier, but I’m not betting on it. I hope someone else is finding this as troubling as I am or else I’ll go batty!!

Well the flickr website was pretty cool and I enjoyed using it and also appreciated the simplicity of getting my photo on here.
I took this picture with my phone and within five minutes I have completed this blog. WOW! Now that’s user friendly!!
THANKS FLICKR!!
P.S. Did you notice I added some accessories? That was so much fun! =)

I cannot believe the amount of content on the internet put out there by everyday people. 120,000 new web blogs a day what does everyone do all day? I put on my delicious account facebook and myspace because as a college student I am on there everyday. I cannot believe that 24000+ bookmarks are associated with just a couple of tags that I had used for them. Imagine if I used more? It boggles the mind how big and expansive the world wide web is, oh wait theres the reason. WORLD Wide Web. So many little pieces to this puzzle called the internet. I went to Technorati and typed in library 2.0 and a German entry came up, I guess it was a funny quote about working in a library but my German is bad and I didn’t understand it! I laughed anyways…
I am learning so much from this course, I knew nothing about this other side of the internet before. I never read blogs or cared what was out there but now I find it refreshing and interesting a lot of people have some pretty amazing things to say. If only we had a soapbox to pass around instead maybes ideas would be heard.

I have never posted anything on the Internet before. Today is the first time I have ever used a blog so I am not so sure what I should write about. Perhaps I will describe why I am posting this blog. I joined this SEMLS group with the college in hopes of better understanding the library world and taking that knowledge to the college and to the librarians there so we can all be better equipped to handle all those questions about the Internet that we ourselves have questions about. I hope to take from this a better grasp on using the Internet as a tool for the library not just an accessory…
Talk to you soon
